Undeterred focus has also led him to venture into India’s wine market with Big Banyan Wines, which has forged international associations with renowned Italian winemakers. The wine portfolio consists of the Big Banyan Wines in seven varietals. It has gained good consumer acceptance in the states where it has been made available.
Paul P John is also the Chairman of the acclaimed Kumarakom Lake Resort, Kerala, India known for its luxury. It was declared as India’s Leading Resort in the World Travel Awards 2006 – ’07.
Paul P. John began JDL as a young entrepreneur in 1992. Within a decade, he grew the flagship brand - Original Choice into an 11.7 million case brand. He also expanded his operations from Karnataka into the neighboring Southern states and into the Western and Northern Indian states.
The next hospitality venture, ‘The Paul’ in Bangalore, is an all suite hotel that redefines the terms luxury and modern comforts. Mr. Paul also has business interests in the USA with a furnishing fabric trading house in Tampa, Florida. With Big Banyan Wines, he intends to create the kind of fine wines that would not only place India on the oenophile’s radar but would nurture a whole culture of good taste and gracious living around his brands.
